Training & Ongoing Support
No prior ADU experience is required to open an Ellery ADU Studio franchise. The brand’s 10 years of design-build volume since 2015 has been compressed into training systems, documentation standards, and field checklists that take a new owner from day one through their first permitted project. Our position is simple: the ADU trade is learnable, but only if the training is built around evidence, not theory. We show you the permit sets, the written prices, the photo records, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise in operation before you ever quote your first client.
Initial Training
Week-one training begins at our facility and covers the five service categories end to end: ADU Design & Permitting, Garage Conversion ADU, New Detached ADU, Junior ADU & Interior Conversion, and ADU Site Prep & Utilities. You’ll learn how a permit set is assembled, where city reviewers in metro markets typically push back, and how to read a title 24 energy calculation without pretending to be an engineer. The trade curriculum includes real project files from the 900+ ADUs completed since 2015, so you see what a clean submittal looks like versus one that triggers three rounds of corrections. Software training covers our documentation platform, which generates the written price, the scope, and the photo record that clients receive after every visit. Hiring modules walk through how to recruit background-checked, uniformed crews and what to verify before anyone steps onto a client’s property. Marketing training covers local search, the value of the written price in ad copy, and how to present the Haven Standard clauses without sounding like a sales script. By the end of initial training, you’ll have built a mock permit package and a mock written estimate under supervision.
Launch Support
Before your doors open, our launch team handles the local marketing setup: Google Business Profile, service-area mapping, and landing pages that include your license number and the written-price guarantee. We do not use the words “call for a quote” anywhere, because Clause 1 of the Haven Standard makes that phrase irrelevant. Your lead engine is configured to route calls to a live person 24/7, not a voicemail tree, and your first jobs are coached by a field support lead who has managed ADU build-outs through final inspection. The first-jobs coaching includes pricing review on your first five written estimates, a walkthrough of the documented photo record system, and a pre-submittal check before any permit set leaves your office. When your first client asks whether the price will change once work starts, you’ll have the answer in writing because that is the only way we know how to operate.
Ongoing Support
- Field coaching: A support lead reviews your active projects, including permit submittals, inspection results, and 365-Day Done Right Promise claims, with scheduled check-ins and ad-hoc calls when a project hits friction.
- Marketing operations: National and local campaign assets, updated seasonally, with copy built around written pricing and documented evidence, not urgency discounts or vague promises.
- Vendor relationships: Access to our negotiated pricing and coordination standards across prefab and modular systems including Abodu, Cover, Dvele, Mighty Buildings, Boxabl, Plant Prefab, Tuff Shed, and James Hardie.
- Technology platform: The documentation system that produces written quotes, change-order-free scopes, and client-facing photo records is maintained and improved centrally, so your team never has to build internal tools from scratch.
- National brand campaigns: Brand-level advertising that drives awareness of the Haven Standard and routes qualified inquiries to local owners in their service areas.
- Peer cohort access: A private channel of Ellery ADU Studio owners who share permit strategies, city-specific code quirks, and pricing benchmarks across metro markets.
